What we do:
Our aim is to: Acknowledge all patients are individuals with individual needs. Respect personal and spiritual beliefs. Prove multidisciplinary assessment and care appropriate to each patient. Provide comfort and dignity in the terminal phase of life.

About our services:
The hospital comprises of twenty seven beds, fifteen offering care for 8 continuing care patients, 7 rehabilitation patients and twelve for General Practice acute patients. The hospital also provides nurse led minor injuries services.

General Practice Acute Services include:

  • Acute medical conditions
  • Assessment of chronic problems
  • Palliative care
  • Rehabilitation following discharge from the Borders General Hospital and other acute hospitals.

Continuing care is:

  • Patients assessed as requiring continuing nursing care which meets NHS criteria.

Rehabilitation patients include:

  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Slow stream rehabilitation
  • Rehabilitation following surgical/orthopaedic procedure
  • Respite care

The Clinical Management Team
Comprises of 2 Medical Superintendents, a Ward Manager, an Occupational Therapist, and a Physiotherapist.
In addition there is access to Speech & Language Therapy, Dieticians, Specialist Nursing, MacMillan Nursing, Diabetic and Respiratory Clinics, as needed by the individual patient.

How to access our services:
Access to the service is through the General Practitioner, or where appropriate following transfer from acute hospital.
