Monday to Friday 8.00am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 6.00pm

The surgery is closed for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. Telephone number for Emergency cover will be provided on the answer service during this time.

Consultations with the Doctors are by APPOINTMENT ONLY and are available morning and afternoon MONDAY to FRIDAY. A ring back service is also available, whereby the GP will return your call if not available at that time.

For an appointment telephone 01896 661363 - urgent cases are seen on the same day. If there are no appointments patients will be fitted into a 5 minute slot. Non-urgent appointments will be seen within 2-3 days.

Out of hours: 08454 24 24 24

All weekday calls between 6.00pm and 8.00am, and weekend calls between Friday 6.00pm and Monday 8.00am are dealt with by NHS 24.These calls are dealt with by nurse advisors, who will give advice, ask for the patient to be seen at Borders General Hospital, or arrange a home visit. Home visits:

If possible home visits should be requested before 10am. Calls after this time will be dealt through the ring back service.

Repeat prescriptions:

If the doctor has agreed that your prescription can be issued on a repeat basis, please contact the surgery between 11.15am and 12.15pm with your request at least TWO WORKING DAYS before it will be required. Prescriptions can be picked up by any of the 4 pharmacists in the town.
