Department of Nutrition

What we do:
Community Dietitans and Nutritionists in the Borders are involved in clinical work or health promotion or a mixture of both.

Area covered:
We have Community Dietetic Clinics around the Borders where dietary advice is offered to individuals, which is tailored to their own particular needs and requirements.

About our services:
Dietitians are all State Registered (SRD) and we all have a recognised graduate qualification in nutrition and diet. We work to a strict ethical code of conduct.

Community Dietitians help to promote healthy food choices and to prevent disease by increasing awareness of the link between nutrition and health. We also help to facilitate a positive change in food choices amongst individual groups and communities.

How to access our services:
Referral to a Community Dietitian for advice on a specific diet e.g. diabetes, cholesterol lowering, food allergy is through a Medical Practitioner.
