Community Nursing Out of Hours Service

What we do:
The community nursing out of hours service, is available for people who require nursing intervention, which occurs out with normal working hours. This may be a planned visit as arranged by your district nurse or unplanned.

When are we open:
The service is covered from 6pm to 8am.

Area covered:
Borders-wide

About our services:
The nurse will not be from your own area and may contact you by telephone to assess if a visit is required. Advice may be given by telephone and where a visit is not deemed necessary a referral may be made to the regular community nursing service.
It is helpful if a visit is required to have a telephone number and directions to the house available. It is also helpful to switch on outside lights/house lights when it is dark.

The community nursing out of hours service is accessed by calling NHS 24.
