All weekday calls between 6.00pm and 8.00am, and weekend calls are dealt with by NHS 24. These calls are dealt with by a trained nurse, who will give advice, and may ask you to attend the Borders Emergency Care Service at Borders General Hospital, or arrange a home visit. Home visits:

If you are too ill to come to the surgery, a house visit can be arranged. If possible, requests for home visits should be made before 10.30am so that the doctors can plan their working day.

Repeat prescriptions should be ordered at least 48 hours before you require to start your medication. If you supply a stamped addressed envelope we will forward your prescription to you. All of the Galashiels Chemists operate a collection service where your prescription can be collected from the Health Centre by the Chemist and you only have to collect your medicines from the Chemist - for further details on this service please contact your Chemist.

Prescriptions ordered on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be ready to collect on the following day after 12 noon. Prescriptions ordered on a Friday will be ready to collect on Monday after 12 noon.
